About Cavelossim:
Cavelossim is halfway down the west coast of India, in the south part of the state of Goa. (it is 10 mls S of Margao; 6¾ mls S of Colva. 32 mls SE of Dabolim airport). The village is ½ mile inland, set in fairly flat countryside with lots of rice paddies and open woodland, getting drier and less green farther to the S. The Sahydri Hills in the distance to the south provide an attractive backdrop.
This small, peaceful village (1¾ by 3¾ mls) has a large, appealing church (Santa Cruz), a few basic general stores, market stalls, some tiny, low-key bars and restaurants and little else. It is the last of the larger settlements in the Saclette area, with the River Sal to the S, which is a rich source of shellfish. Most of the hotels are spread along the narrow road to the S and W, fronting the beach.
Holidays in Cavelossim are ideal for seeing some of the most beautiful land that Goa has to offer. Lying between the Arabian Sea and Sal River, this charming place has plenty to offer in the way of fun filled summer holidays.
Sleepy Cavelossim is famous for a few reasons. For starters, it’s simply beautiful. Check out the village’s picturesque church square to get an idea of what we mean. Then take the narrow lanes across to the open areas of paddy fields, before arriving at the mouth of the stunning Sal River. Then there are the beaches.
Cavelossim is famous for having one of the most beautiful beaches in Goa, and it doesn’t disappoint. The brilliant white sands and crystal clear seas are a beach lover’s paradise. Along with the obligatory sunbathing and watersports, you can even go in search of dolphins. Hop into a boat and let a guide take you into the sea where you’ll catch a glimpse of these cute creatures.
To add a touch of five star glamour to your holidays, the oceanfront Leela hotel has bagged a stunning spot right on the Arabian Sea. Along with the envious location, it boasts fantastic facilities, like golf courses and tennis courts, along with luxury rooms fit for a king.

Nightlife

Panaji
Panaji, located at the mouth of the Mandovi River, is a place to get lost in. The pleasant narrow streets with charming houses are a touch of the Mediterranean transported to the Indian Ocean.
Old Goa
The Churches and Convents of Goa have been declared a World Heritage Site. In the 16th and 17th centuries when the Portuguese created these magnificent Renaissance and Baroque buildings, Goa was one of the world’s great cities, with a population greater than London’s. In addition to the impressive facades and decorative carvings, visitors will find the tomb of St Francis Xavier, the famous missionary, whose remains are enshrined in the Basilica of Bom Jesus.
Chandor
A trip of little more than 10 miles will take you back to colonial times. The 17th century Braganza House is open daily. Now split into two wings, it has marble floors, teak ceilings, chandeliers, beautiful furniture and is still occupied by branches of the Braganza family. The nearby Fernandes House may not be as grand but it is older and has plenty of history.
